Screen printing puts ink through a mesh stencil, one screen per colour. Setting those screens up takes time, which is why it costs more than embroidery on ten shirts and much less on two hundred. The ink sits in the fabric rather than on top of it, so a properly cured print outlasts the garment.

How the job runs
- Send the artwork and the sizes. Vector art (AI, EPS, PDF) prints sharpest. We'll tell you before charging anything if yours needs redrawing.
- Approve the proof. You see exactly where the print sits and how big it is, on the garment you chose.
- Screens are burned. One per colour, per location. This is the setup charge, and it's why the second run of the same design costs less.
- Print, cure and check. Every piece is checked as it comes off; we print a couple of spares on larger runs.
What the price depends on
We quote every job rather than publish a rate card, because these change the number more than anything else:
- How many pieces — the price per shirt drops sharply with quantity
- How many ink colours, and how many places it prints
- The garment itself (a heavyweight hoodie costs more than a cotton tee)
- Whether the artwork is print-ready or needs redrawing
- Dark garments needing a white underbase, which is an extra pass
Questions we get asked
What's the minimum order for screen printing?
24 pieces. Below that the screen setup is a large share of the bill, so DTF printing or embroidery is usually cheaper for the same design.
Should I use screen printing or embroidery for company polos?
Embroidery, in almost every case. Stitching reads as more formal on a polo, survives industrial laundering, and doesn't crack. Screen printing suits t-shirts and hoodies, and larger prints.
How much does screen printing cost in Canada?
The garment plus the print. The print is driven by quantity, colours and locations, and there's a one-time screen charge per colour per location. Same design, second run: the screen charge drops because the artwork is already set up.
Can you match my exact brand colour?
Yes — give us the Pantone reference and we mix to it. Without a Pantone we'll match by eye to something you send us, and show it on the proof.
Can I supply my own shirts?
Yes. There's an uplift on the decoration because handling someone else's goods carries more risk, and we can't replace a garment we didn't supply if one misprints.
